One of the most common problems among paddlers is wrist strain caused by forced twisting during the action of the stroke. Much of this unwanted torque creates a tighter grip on the shaft, general fatigue, and eventually evolves into unstable blade entry into the water. Even a feathered straight shaft will not counteract the angle of this wrist flex. To help alleviate these concerns, Lendal has developed a Modified Crank Shaft (MSC) that features a triple bend in the shaft allowing for a much more relaxed grip. Like the straight shafts, feathering angles can be set at 0 or 60 degrees. All of this innovation amounts to less fatigue, minimal wrist strain, reduced windage, and more stability - especially in rough water. Who should use an MSC?
